Cardiovascular

Blood-based cardiovascular biomarkers can provide insights into cardiovascular health and therapeutic benefit in a minimally invasive manner. Common blood-based, tissue and histological clinical markers of cardiac injury or stress are available for pre-clinical research.

Blood-Based: cTnI, NT-proBNP, NT-proANP, MCP-1

Hepatic

Insults to the liver produce robust elevations in many blood and tissue based biomarkers.  The majority of PBI biomarker offerings are centered around  evaluating liver fibrosis resulting from hepatic stellate cell activation.

Blood based: AST, ALT, ALP, MCP-1, Bile Acids
Tissue Biopsy: Hydroxyproline, mRNA expression
Histology: Picrosirius Red staining for fibrosis quantitation, macrophage infiltration, α-Smooth Muscle Actin expression

Pulmonary

Pulmonary biomarkers are best measured from a direct lung lavage. PBI offers bronchoalveolar lavage, blood and tissue biomarkers for analysis of pulmonary function.
